3DPrintedCarPartDescription
My new-to-me used 2023 Subaru Forester was missing this part, so I decided to make one. From what I have read online, the following appears to be true: This should fit 2020 - 2024 model years Some (many?) people don't like the the original "factory version" that comes with the car, so I did not try to re-create an identical version See photos for pictures of the factory version for comparison As a side note, the factory installed version has two spring loaded tabs that fold down to accommodate different sizes of cups. The tabs seem to be more annoying than useful, but I can't speak to this first-hand. I made the following versions of the center divider: V02 - A basic straight-sided version V03 - Same as V02, but with "finger grips" to facilitate removal V04 - Essentially the basic version with a channel in the middle; this separates the two sides of the cup holder, but still allows room for a phone, etc. V04B - Same as V04, but modified to print "upright" for a better finish; this is not the optimal print orientation from a flexibility standpoint, but it did install easily enough. See below on installation and removal. Assembly and Use No assembly is required, but the V04 and V04B versions will require removal of support material. Installation is simple - the design is a snap fit (like the original factory version), so simply position it over the center "tabs" (see photo) provided for holding the divider, and push down until it snaps into place. It should be a firm fit. Removal can be difficult, except for the V03 version which has finger grips which enable a firm hold for removal. For the other versions, you will probably have to pry them up from below, using a thin spatula or similar tool. Print Instructions Print in PETG using the 3mf files provided, otherwise: 0.2mm layer height 3 perimeters 10% rectilinear infill Versions V04 and V04B require supports under the overhangs; I used organic (tree) supports. It is recommend to use PETG for this model (or some other filament which can withstand the high temperature in a car in sunlight).
