Description

When out 4 x 4ing in my Jeep Wrangler, I like to use my older Garmin handheld GPS to track my route and to navigate. So I made an adapter that bolts onto the back of the GPS and mounts to a typical phone mount ball. This adapter/mount keeps the GPS at a good level where it is easy to view and operate. The adapter is bolted to the GPS with a 4-40 x 1/2" Allen head hex bolt. The tightening knob uses an 8-32 x 1 1/4" hex head machine bolt and 8-32 nut. You may have to break the edges on the handle and ball mount with a razor knife to get the bolt to fit and to get the mount to snap onto the ball. The adapter is shown attached to an M-Pow CD phone mount ball.
