This is a window mount for the Escort Passport Max 2 for a Tesla Model S (all years). As many know, the Tesla Model S windshield is coated with a radar reflecting surface, making radar detectors less sensitive or completely useless. There is, however, a small patch of uncoated area just to the left of the mirror/camera, right behind the rear view mirror. However, due to the location, it's almost impossible to mount the Passport Max with the sticky cup and get a view through that area. This mount will correct that problem and give the radar detector a much wider field of view through the tiny opening. It has the added bonus of putting the detector out of the way and will no longer block the visor when lowered. It will also prevent the radar detector from falling down all the time due to the sticky cup coming off (especially in high heat environment). To use this, you will need to disassemble your Sticky Cup. You'll need the magnetic arm, the screw, washer and tightening cap. See the pictures... but it is pretty self explanitory. Remove the tightening cap, pull out the screw, remove the magnetic arm. Install the arm in the mount, slide the screw through the holes (mind the square side. Tightening cap goes on the right, with the cutout), put the tightening cap on and cinch it down a bit. If you are using the supported version, it doesn't need to be very tight, as the plastic will do the supporting, not the friction of the screw. The unsupported version will require a lot of force, so I would consider possibly printing it out with a higher infill than 20%. But you can use the unsupported version on any windshield, really, since you can angle the radar detector in almost any fashion. With the supported version, it is designed specifically with the angle of the Tesla Model S windshield in mind - so the radar detector is level. The supported version requires supports to print, unless you have a fantastic bridging setup. The unsupported version does not require any supports.
