I'm working on a project where one of my goals is to not to make any permanent alterations to my car, but I do need to mount a switch. Many cars have "blanking plates" the fill the holes where buttons would go for options that you didn't order or that aren't available in your market. Usually drilling holes in one of these plates is a harmless enough way to mount a switch, but in this case I wanted the switch to be mounted flush, and I have a 3D printer, so I popped them out of the dash and took some measurements to make my own.
