Description

DO NOT USE PLA - I HAVE CONFIRMED THAT A FRESHLY BREWED COFFEE IN A 16oz REUSABLE PLASTIC CUP TRANSFERS ENOUGH HEAD TO SOFTEN ALL THE SPRUNG FINGERS! Sorry for shouting, I just don't want you to think 'Yay, great idea' and then end up spilling hot drink everywhere:D ________________________________________________________________________ Update: 14 Jol 18 - New shortened version uploaded. -2.5 mm off the base to accommodate the rubber mat and -2.5 mm from the top to stop it sitting proud. Print and post! Thanks ________________________________________________________________________ Update: 13 Jul 18 - OK, so I uploaded the pictures BEFORE I removed all the stringing - it's probably going to stay stringy to be honest! It's printed in PLA - and in a hot car, or with a freshly brewed cup of coffee pressed against it - it's probably going to bend anyway.... Reworking of the stl will only lake me a minute, when I get round to it. The pictures show how much it protrudes, but it also shows the difference of how well the cup sits with the holder being in and out. Enjoy P.S. To view any image at larger size, right click the image and open in another window/tab. Edit the address and change the end of the address (before the.jpg for pictures) from: "preview_featured" to "display_large" (minus the "quotes") Thanks DrLex https://www.thingiverse.com/DrLex/about for that tip.... ________________________________________________________________________ Update: 10 Jul 18 - Printed and it fits! It's better without the bottom rubber mat installed in the cup holders, so I'll adjust to remove the mat thickness from the bottom of the model; once done it we sit really snugly. Also, it's slightly proud of the upper surface of the console, I'll nip a bit away on top too. Photo will be uploaded as soon as I've removed all the stringing...... damned retraction settings STILL not bob-on. ________________________________________________________________________ I have a Hyundai i30 2012-2017 with the two cupholders in the centre console, unfortunately the tall 16 fl oz coffee cups wobble all over the shop and are not secure in any way. I searched the inter-webs for a suitable holder with the adjustable grip this (hopefully) offers, but turned up nothing. So here is my attempt. It fits snugly in the existing console cutout (approx 75mm at the base, 83mm at the top and 79mm deep) - and the flexible fingers 'should' grip the cup and hold it snugly. I say should because an initial print went quite badly, details are in the 'Print Settings' Misc Notes section - read it there. I'll update and remove the 'WIP' flag when it's finally printed out properly. (NOTE: Paper cup is included for virtual test fitting and is not designed to be printed).
