Because one of the side panel rosettes of my W211 mercedes E class was broken, I wanted to replace it with a new one. Apparently they are not easy to get anymore. Therefore I wanted to make a 3d printable version for this. It is not a perfect copy from the original, but it has a perfect fit. After printing, you should make a small cut in the print in order to place it around the trunk arms. I have printed the rosettes as they are uploaded (must use support then). They can also be printed flat and and use little to no support. I think printing them while standing up gives best results. As I am an engineer and not a designer, I prefer not to design it all by myself but instead searching for someone who already did made these things. I could not find anyone who has made these before. Had to find out what the dimensions were from these rosettes. There are some great programs which helped me to make the basic shape and size of these parts. However, a decent picture, a caliper, and some photoshop skills gave me a working shape (svg file) to work with. Next up... Blender...
