Description

This is a housing for Mitsubishi keys with a broken rubber housing. The plastic holder with immobiliser chip and metall key can be pressed inside this housing, closed up with the cap and secured with a key ring. I forgot to take pictures of the plasik holder and key itself, it is the same as in this thing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1699540 My first attempt looked similar to this thing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2633377 But could not withstand the daily use, so I tried this approach, which is currently in testing. In order for the key to fit properly into the housing, the immobiliser chip needs to be on the side where I included two little markings on the inside of the housing. Otherwise the cap will not fit. Also be sure to remove the support properly on the surfaces where part 1 and 2 are touching, maybe even with a file or sandpaper, it is a tight fit. There are two versions of part 1, one more angular and one rounded off, choose whichever you like. Line support is relatively easy to remove in this case. I used PLA, but you might want to consider using a Material which can handle higher temperatures like ABS or PETG, in case the key is sitting in a hot car for a while. Note: (in my case: 2000 Mitsubishi space star) - key style used in many other models.
