Description

Intro: Hello and thanks for checking out my design. This was a solution I designed when going off-road and having to use the Motorola GP-388PLUS radio. I needed a place to mount it in the vehicle. Cupholders & Co-Pilot are the common solutions and drilling holes wasn't an option. I used 3M double sided adhesive instead, easy to remove with adhesive removal. This was specifically designed for my radio type, but this should work for most portable UHF radios that have a belt clip and a handset. Let me know in the comments if theres a specific mount you'd require. Description: Radio Handset Clip: This circular clip was printed at 1mm for tolerance purposes, but will work with 2mm. It is designed to seat itself in the existing hole on the handset and the washer-nut combo mounted on the back of the metal clip clamps down the clip. It uses a M3 nut and bolt to mount it all together. Radio Unit Mount: This is designed to utilise the existing Motorola GP388Plus belt clip. A gap at the bottom of the holster allows the clip to engage and therefore seat snug and won't fall out incase of rollover or extreme terrain. In-Vehicle Handset mount: This is a simple handset mounting configuration that cradles the Radio Handset clip you've printed. It has a.5mm tolerance on each side which can be widened with a file for a more loose fit. I wanted it to be a snug fit so the handset would stay in place. A little sanding/filing require for cleanup Happy Printing!
