MR2 Spyder no-drill license plate holder
Description
I hate to drill into my car for something as ugly as a license plate. I also hate getting pulled over for not having front plates. I tried mounting my plates inside the front grille, but the A/C (believe it or not) performs really badly when you block that much of the grille. So I created this mount that reaches through the front plastic grille and bolts securely onto the radiator frame. It holds more than half the plate below the grille, and the A/C works really well now. It has held up well to weather, "highway speeds", and even a few run-ins with tall parking blocks without breaking. You'll have to add your own 1/4-inch long bolts for attaching the oval to the inside bracket, and a few small 1/4 inch bolts and nuts to hold the bracket to the radiator frame. Finally, you also need to add an aftermarket license plate holder. Mine was a "Front Bumper Tow Hook License Plate Mounting Bracket Relocate Holder for BMW" sold by: Acepath USA on Amazon.com.
