The cupholde on my 2004 Saab 9-3 snapped off when my backpack got snagged on it. I designed a new inner piece and a new button as the button had broken a long time ago. I attached the new inner piece by splicing it with the remaining piece inside of the cupholder. I did this by melting a couple metal rods into them with a soldering iron, creating a decently strong connection. This is completley jerryrigged, so I suggest connecting the pieces in some different fashion. The button has supports at the top so it dosen't snap like the old button did.
