Description

This is a remix of Penobscot's outstanding iPhone mount design. I added v-slots to the mount and v-posts to the back of the phone holder to allow for rigid assembly. With supports, I was able to print a great looking 2-piece assembly with no need for glue. I also added 1 mm to the width of the mount as it was every so slightly too tight for my Apple leather case. I printed in PETG, assembled, and drove a 44 hour road trip with my phone securely loaded in the base. I absolutely love Penobscot's original design, great work. In addition, I added a "cord plug", that can be printed in flexible filament, I used blue TPU. After inserting the cable through the hole in the bottom of the mount, wrap the flexible cord plug (assuming you're using a genuine Apple lightning cable) around the lightning connector and press-fit it back into the hole. That way you'll have a one-handed insert and removal of the phone, and the phone will "dock" in the mount. STEP files included if you chose to modify. If I were to re-do this design, I'd flip-flop the v-slot configuration so the slots are on the iPhone holder and the posts are on the mount base. This way it would be easier to print with fewer supports.
