This rear view mirror mount enables the retrofit of an auto dimming mirror from a R52 mini to the smart 450. There are two versions, a standard one that mimics the height of the original 450 mirror, and a shorter one for those who prefer keeping the mirror tilted down more. These are designed with a wider base with internal recesses to hide the incoming cables for the mirror. Because of the angle of the original mounts is slightly different you need a straight mount to get the correct mirror angle or you're only looking at your ceiling lining. Check out the Evilution article which mostly talks about the roadster version but using this mount you can do the same thing on your 450. https://www.evilution.co.uk/mod/auto-dimming-rear-view-mirror.htm?highlight=mirror The wiring pin out on the r52 mirror is Black is ground, white is switched live, grey is reversing light so the mirror clears when reversing. Getting to the reversing circuit can be a bit of a pain so you can skip that one if you can't be bothered. Note, when pulling this mount in and out of the mirror you need to straight pull it, twisting or levering risks snapping the mount.
