Description

This is a removable center console coin holder/organizer tray for the Toyota 86, Subaru BRZ, and Scion FR-S. The stock cup holders inside a covered armrest were useless to me so I invented this. It uses a commercial coin holder that fits in grooves for easy removal. The model is Custom Accessories 91116 Coin Holder, and costs a little over $5 on Amazon. I printed it with PETG on a UM 2+ using a.06 nozzle and a print speed of 50 mm/s. I then painted the parts with one coat of filler primer and 4 or 5 coats of Plasti Dip. This comes out very tacky, so I sprinkled talcum powder over the whole thing and rinsed it off. This makes it much less sticky and much more 'rubbery'. I made it with a frame to maximize the storage space after experimenting with various types of trays. It also used a lot less plastic and was much easier to print. The parts are all cut up for easy FDM printing. When using PETG or ABS, glue the parts together with IPS Weld-On 3 Acrylic Plastic Cement available on Amazon or most hobby shops. This water thin cement will melt and fuse the plastic together. Obviously you do not want to glue the tray to the frame, but I thought I'd mention that just in case.;) Just glue the frame together, then the tray rim to the tray. The frame has little detents to help line up the posts. Note the position in the rendered images.
