Description

My wife bought a 2018 Beetle. The battery died a month later. While changing the battery a plastic cover on the positive terminal fell into the engine compartment and despite a diligent search and partial engine dismantle it is lost forever. We called a local dealer and the guy in their parts department could not identify the part so I measured dimensions of the positive terminal and created a cover out of PLA. I subsequently found the part at the dealer's online site for 83 cents but I enjoyed the experience in designing the replacement and I don't know if they actually had the part in stock. This is the part-https://parts.vw.com/p/Volkswagen_2018_Beetle-Convertible-Coast-20L-AT/Cap-Battery-Cover/48503855/7N0915429A.html The one that fell off our car looked more like the one I printed.
