I wanted to add better instrumentation in my MkII Volkswagen Jetta so I made an angled gauge adapter plate and a couple of mounting plates to go behind the dash panel. I am using round VDO 2" diameter gauge bodies and M3x12 machine screws,4/40s would be fine as well To install remove the dash trim plate and assemble the gauge adapter plate to the mounting plates. I used silicone seal to glue the mounts into the dash trim plate. Once cured remove the gauge adapter plate the mounts will remain in place. I used dabs of silicone seal to the installed gauges in the back to hold them in place. Be sure to use PETG or ABS, something high temperature. I would not recommend PLA.
