Apple Carplay dock for 2018+ Ford Fusion. I am a hack at meshmixer so expect workable not flawless feel free to remix for non commerical use. Challenges with the car environment is Material selection and Annealing that material. I live in Ohio and have some black PLA+ that holds up nicely and barely shrinks when annealed at 225F in the oven for a couple hours even after coming out of the oven at 225 rigidty is pretty good so it should suffice fine for me. Hotter climates you may want to use Nylon probably as snug fitment is needed I suggest printing a stick or something that you can measure material shrink after annealing and scale this accordingly before printing, if you only shrink 1 or 2% then no need to scale when printing. Model is scaled to fit snugly in the pictured pocket, and the phone height (Iphone 8) is set to be right at the bottom of the center stack. Dock slot is a bit loose to account for cases on phone, Dock slot came from remix source with an otterbox on a iPhone 7+ I stretched it taller then rounded it off and rotated on the base to lay the phone back more as a result of stretching taller. Print with supports for the hollow cavity for cord storage underneath. Post processing will involve drilling and tapping from the back for the #4 or #6 or similar machine screw to help hold the charge cable in place. Authentic Apple cable fits nice and snugly already, A little RTV might work adequately if the idea of a securing screw bothers you. Yes there is some modeling touchup that could be done especially for the key fob holder. I got to a point where it was useable and reached the good enough point before MeshMixer drove me to drinking with repairing the cracks from the Boolean operations.
