Description
In Ford F150s from 1997 to 2003, some models come equipped with an overhead console that has a compartment to put in your garage door opener. You velcro the remote to the roof, then connect pegs to the door that drops down. The pegs press the open button. It is a really hacky way of creating a built-in remote button before HomeLink became a thing. I have a 2000 F150 and this worked perfectly for me. I suspect they also did this potentially in the explorer, expedition, F250 and maybe others. Good luck. I included the FreeCAD file in case you want to tweak it, but it is about as simple of a model as you can get.
